Personal data

Privacy policy

This page explains what data is collected on this website, why, and how you can exercise your rights, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act.

Data controller

The controller of the data collected on this website is Dr Alexandre Fleury, 170 avenue de l’Hippodrome, 33320 Eysines, France — reachable via the Contact page or at +33 5 56 57 71 00.

What data is collected, and why

Comments under articles

If you leave a comment under an article, the name (or pseudonym), email address and message content you enter are collected and processed by our comment-management provider, Cusdis. Your email address is never displayed publicly; it is used solely for moderation purposes.

All comments are subject to strict moderation: every message is reviewed and manually approved by Dr Fleury before being published on the website. No comment appears automatically.

The “like” button

The number of “likes” shown under each article is a shared counter, managed by the third-party service Abacus. This counter is anonymous: no identifying personal data is associated with a click. To prevent the same visitor from incrementing the counter multiple times, a simple technical marker (“you have already liked this article”) is stored locally in your own browser’s memory (localStorage). This information stays on your device: it is never transmitted to or shared with us or with third parties.

Browsing the website

This website does not use any audience-measurement or advertising tool (no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel). The typefaces used are loaded from Google Fonts’ servers: this involves a technical connection to those servers (which may transmit your IP address to Google, strictly for the purpose of loading the fonts), without any advertising tracking cookie being set by us.

Booking an appointment (Doctolib)

The “Book an appointment” buttons redirect you to the Doctolib platform, independent of this website. The data you provide there (identity, contact details, reason for consultation) is processed directly by Doctolib SAS, under its own privacy policy, available at doctolib.fr. We do not have access to this data via this website.

The contact form

If you use the form on the Contact page, your name, email address and message are transmitted by our host Netlify and then received by email by Dr Fleury, for the sole purpose of answering you. This form is for practical questions only: please do not include any medical information. Messages are deleted no later than 6 months after the reply.

Retention period

Published comments are kept for as long as they are displayed on the website. Comments rejected during moderation are deleted. You may at any time request the deletion of a comment you have left.

Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact Dr Fleury via the Contact page or at +33 5 56 57 71 00, specifying the purpose of your request.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL — Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés) — www.cnil.fr.

Security

This website is served exclusively over a secure connection (HTTPS). No banking or individual health data is collected via this website: information relating to your medical care is exchanged exclusively during consultations or via Doctolib.
