Chinese dietetics

“Let your food be your first medicine”

In Chinese medicine, food is more than just calories: it is a daily therapeutic tool, adapted to your individual constitution and to the season.

The principles

Nature, flavour, season

Every food has a thermal nature (hot, warm, neutral, cool, cold) and a flavour (sour, bitter, sweet, pungent, salty) that act on specific organs. Eating well means choosing foods that help correct your particular imbalance and that suit the season.

Chinese dietetics actually distinguishes 5 seasons: alongside the usual 4 seasons, there is a short between-season period in late summer, linked to the Earth element.

Personalised advice

During your consultation, I can suggest a list of foods suited to your particular imbalance, as a complement to acupuncture treatment — a simple way to support your health every day, at home.
