Pain

Acupuncture & pain management

Low back pain, sciatica, migraines, osteoarthritis: acupuncture works on pain by rebalancing the flow of Qi through the meridians. Relief is often rapid.

Common indications

When should you consult?

  • Low back pain, sciatica, cruralgia
  • Neck pain, stiff neck, “crick in the neck”
  • Migraines and tension headaches
  • Osteoarthritis, chronic joint pain
  • Tendinitis, tennis elbow, painful shoulder
  • Post-traumatic pain and stiffness

How a session unfolds

After a thorough history and examination, very fine needles are placed at targeted points. This meridian-rebalancing approach often brings relief from the very first session. The number of sessions needed depends on how long-standing the pain is.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Does relief come immediately?

For recent pain, an effect is often felt from the first session. Chronic pain generally needs several sessions.

Is it compatible with my treatments?

Yes. Acupuncture complements your care without replacing it. Bring your file (imaging, prescriptions).

How many sessions?

Often 3 to 5 for established pain, spaced out according to progress. The plan is always worked out together.

Does it hurt?

The needles are very fine: the sensation is most often a light pressure or a diffuse warmth.
