From around August 23 to November 6: the season of the Lungs, to be protected from dryness.

That’s a period of about 76 days
Autumn corresponds to the Metal element and calls on the Lungs. The air grows dry, and with it the mucous membranes (skin, throat, bronchi) — this is the season to focus on moistening rather than warming or cooling. It is also when we gently start preparing the ground for the winter ahead.
Stewed fruit, soups and gentle simmered dishes that provide moisture. Avoid very dry or very spicy foods, which tend to worsen dryness.
Honey (a spoonful in a warm drink), baked pear with a touch of cinnamon, or a gentle thyme tea to support the ears, nose and throat as the season begins.
These are general principles of Chinese dietetics, to be adapted to your own individual constitution. A supplement or herb can interact with an ongoing treatment: always ask your doctor before starting any herbal remedy, particularly during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or if you are on long-term medication.
